An STI concern while travelling can feel isolating, particularly when you are unsure where to get advice or how the healthcare system in France works. I am Dr Simon Gordon, a British GP (MB ChB) registered with both the GMC and the Ordre des Médecins, and based in Valbonne on the Côte d’Azur. I offer confidential video consultations for English-speaking visitors anywhere in France.

I can assess your concerns, advise on testing and treatment options, and where clinically appropriate email you a French prescription (ordonnance) the same day.

Unlike anonymous telemedicine platforms, you know exactly who you are speaking to: a named, GMC-registered British GP with a verifiable background and a longstanding practice in this region.

How it Works

You book a video consultation using the link below. I will listen to your concerns, take a clinical history, and advise you on the most appropriate next steps. This may include treatment, referral for testing, or both. Where a prescription is appropriate following the consultation I will email it to you and you can collect your medication from any French pharmacy the same day.

What I can assess and advise on

I can assess symptoms that may be associated with sexually transmitted infections, advise on appropriate testing, and prescribe treatment where clinically indicated — including for bacterial infections such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea. I can also advise on where to access STI testing in France, including at specialist sexual health clinics (CeGIDD) which are available to visitors as well as residents. Each case is handled with complete confidentiality.

Yes. You do not need a confirmed diagnosis or specific symptoms to book a consultation. If you have a concern, that is sufficient reason to seek medical advice. I will listen and help you understand your options clearly.
The consultation fee is €100. This covers the video consultation and the emailed prescription where applicable. There are no additional charges.
All consultations are governed by the same standards of medical confidentiality that apply in the UK and France. I have no obligation to share the details of your consultation with anyone, and your information will not be passed to third parties.
STI testing is available in France at specialist sexual health clinics (CeGIDD) and at private laboratories. CeGIDD clinics are free and do not require a French social security number, making them accessible to tourists and visitors. I can advise you on how to access testing locally during the consultation. Private labs are cheap reactive to most other english speaking countries.
I deal with sensitive medical concerns on a regular basis and approach them without judgement. The consultation is a straightforward clinical conversation, and many patients find it easier to discuss these matters with a doctor they can speak to in their own language without any language barrier.
